Extracellular Matrix Proteins

Achieving physiologically relevant in vitro models is paramount for groundbreaking research. The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a critical role in cell behavior, influencing everything from adhesion and spreading to growth and differentiation.

To provide your cells with the optimal environment, ScienCell offers a selection of highly purified ECM proteins designed to serve as effective cell culture substrata. Our ECM proteins are:

  • Validated through wet lab-based cell attachment assays
  • Supports consistent and uniform cell populations
  • Delivers reproducible experimental outcomes
  • Economical solution for scalable cell culture applications

Discover the difference these specialized proteins can make in your experiments!

Human Cellular Fibronectin (HCF, Cat. No. 8488)

  • HCF differs from plasma fibronectin through the presence of additional polypeptide segments
  • Crucially, HCF has the capacity to specifically regulate the morphology and growth of attached cells, including stem cells. This distinction makes it particularly valuable for certain research applications
  • It is produced from human fibroblasts maintained in serum-free media and purified biochemically
  • Fibronectin matrix assembly is essential for normal development and also contributes to tumor metastases

Bovine Plasma Fibronectin (BPF, Cat. No. 8248)

  • Purified from bovine plasma using affinity chromatography
  • BPF is recommended for use as a cell culture substratum
  • Its primary function is to support cell adhesion and spreading on the culture dish
  • BPF binds to cell membrane receptors and extracellular matrix components

Bovine Plasma Vitronectin (BPV, Cat. No. 8538)

  • Vitronectin is another important glycoprotein found in plasma and the extracellular matrix
  • BPV is purified from bovine plasma by affinity chromatography
  • Vitronectin is involved in a wide range of biological functions, including cell adhesion, spreading, migration, proliferation, extracellular anchoring, fibrinolysis, hemostasis, and complement immune defense
  • It can be effectively used for coating tissue culture surfaces to promote cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation
