Telomeric repeat–containing RNA (TERRA) plays a vital role in telomere biology, influencing telomerase activity, chromosome stability, and cellular aging. Abnormal TERRA expression has been linked to cancer, aging, and age-related diseases. But detecting TERRA has always been a challenge due to:
❌ Very low abundance in cells
❌ Risk of DNA contamination during qPCR
❌ Transcript heterogeneity and instability
The solution, our new RT-qPCR kit, Human Telomeric repeat–containing RNA detection qPCR Kit (Catalog No. 9028) that makes TERRA analysis accurate and reproducible by:
✅ Using a proprietary DNA linker strategy to prevent DNA interference
✅ Offering chromosome-specific primers for precise measurement
✅ Delivering a streamlined workflow optimized for sensitivity and reliability
Now, researchers can confidently study TERRA and gain deeper insights into telomere biology alongside telomere length measurements.
Quantifying TERRA at Individual Chromosome Ends
ScienCell’s approach enables both total TERRA quantification and chromosome-specific expression analysis:
- Chromosome-Specific Precision: qPCR pairs subtelomeric forward primers with linker–telomeric reverse primers to quantify TERRA at individual chromosome ends, with coverage across 2q, 7p, 9p, 10q, 13q, 15q, 17p, XqYq, and total TERRA.
- Built-In Normalization: A GAPDH primer set is included for reliable normalization in gene expression analysis.
