ScienCell's GeneQuery™ Human Malaria qPCR Array Kit (GQH-MAL) profiles 88 key genes involved in the progression of malaria in humans. Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by parasitic microorganisms in genus Plasmodium. Symptoms generally include fever, fatigue, vomiting, and headaches, and if improperly treated, can lead to recurrence or death. Complications of malaria can include low blood pressure, circulatory shock, decreased consciousness, respiratory problems, and jaundice. Brief examples of how included genes may be grouped according to their affected systems are shown below:
- Immune: C5AR1, CR1, HAVCR2, HLA-B, IL2
- Hematopoietic: CSF2, CSF3. EPO, IL6, NCR3
- Cardiovascular: ANGPT2, F3, PECAM1, PF4, THBD, VEGFA
- Respiratory: HBA2, IFNG, NOS2, SELE, SLC4A1
- Mortality/Aging: FCGR2A, FCGR2B, G6PD, HP, ICAM1
GeneQuery™ qPCR array kits are qPCR ready in a 96-well plate format, with each well containing one primer set that recognizes and efficiently amplifies a specific target gene's cDNA. The carefully designed primers ensure that: (i) the optimal annealing temperature in qPCR analysis is 65°C (with 2 mM Mg2+and no DMSO); (ii) the primer set recognizes all known transcript variants of the target gene, unless otherwise noted; and (iii) only one gene is amplified. Each primer set has been validated by qPCR with melt curve analysis and gel electrophoresis.
