Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Derived-GABAergic Neurons
Includes 1 vial of frozen HPSC-GABAN (Cat. #1770, 1 mL, >1 x 10^6 cells/vial), 100 mL Neuronal Maintenance Medium (NMM, Cat. #5951), 2 mL GABAergic Neuron Supplement (GABANS 50X, Cat. #5922)
GABAergic neurons are the principal inhibitory neuronal population in the mammalian central nervous system and are essential for regulating neuronal excitability, synaptic integration, network oscillation, and excitatory/inhibitory balance. GABAergic interneurons display extensive molecular, physiological, and functional diversity, allowing them to control circuit timing and information flow across multiple brain regions. Dysfunction of GABAergic neurons has been implicated in epilepsy, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and other neurological and neuropsychiatric disease biology. Human pluripotent stem cell platforms have demonstrated directed differentiation of GABAergic interneuron populations with neuronal maturation and functional properties, supporting their value for disease modeling, drug screening, and translational neuroscience research. Human Pluripotent Stem Cell-derived GABAergic Neurons (HPSC-GABAN) from ScienCell Research Laboratories provide a robust, reliable, and consistent off-the-shelf option for human GABAergic neurons.
HPSC-GABAN are cryopreserved and delivered frozen. Each vial contains > 1 × 106 cells in 1 ml volume. HPSC-GABAN are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to pan neuronal marker beta tubulin III (TubbIII) and GABAergic neuronal markers Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). HPSC-GABAN are negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HPSC-GABAN can be cultured under the conditions provided by ScienCell Research Laboratories. HPSC-GABAN are not recommended for expansion since the cells do not proliferate in culture.
