Ham's F-12 nutrient mix with L-Glutamine and HEPES

Ham's F-12 nutrient mix with L-Glutamine and HEPES (F12) were originally developed to support the clonal growth of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells, as well as HeLa and mouse L-cells. F12 is well suited for supporting the growth of a broad range of mammalian cell lines. F12 is also used for the growth of primary rat hepatocytes and rat prostate epithelial cells. A clonal toxicity assay using CHO cells has also been reported with Ham's F12 as the medium of choice. Ham's F-12 with 25 mM HEPES provides more effective buffering condition in the optimum pH range of 7.2-7.4.
