Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 8
Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 (rhFGF8) is a secreted, heparin-binding member of the FGF family, originally identified as an androgen-dependent growth factor in mouse mammary carcinoma cells.
Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 (FGF8) is a secreted, heparin-binding member of the FGF family, originally identified as an androgen-dependent growth factor in mouse mammary carcinoma cells. In humans, four isoforms (FGF8a, b, e, f) are produced by alternative splicing. FGF8 plays a critical role during embryogenesis, regulating epithelial–mesenchymal transition and orchestrating tissue patterning of the midbrain/hindbrain, eye, ear, limbs, and heart. In adults, FGF8 expression is limited, but detectable in reproductive and genitourinary tissues, bone marrow hematopoietic cells, and peripheral leukocytes. Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 (FGF8) corresponds to amino acids Gln23–Arg244 of the human FGF8 protein, with an additional N-terminal Met and C-terminal His tag, giving a total length of 202 amino acids.
