Rat Neurons-hindbrain
Rat Neurons-hindbrain (RN-hb) from ScienCell Research Laboratories are isolated from embryonic day 14 rat hindbrain. RN-hb are cryopreserved at P0 and delivered frozen. Each vial contains >1 x 106 cells in 1 ml volume.
The hindbrain manages essential functions like respiration, regulating heart rate, and coordinating complex movements such as balance and motor skills. Neurons are dynamically polarized cells responsible for electrochemically transmitting information throughout the nervous system. Research has shown that the adult rat brain contains 200 million neurons. In general, there are three main types of neurons: motor neurons, sensory neurons, and interneurons. Despite great variability in size and shape, most neurons share common morphological features including a cell body, dendrites, the axon, and the axon terminals. Primary rat neurons-hindbrain (RN-hb) can be used for further elucidating the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental and neurogenerative disorders. RN-hb from ScienCell Research Laboratories are isolated from embryonic day 14 rat hindbrain. RN-hb are cryopreserved at P0 and delivered frozen. Each vial contains >1x 106 cells in 1 ml volume. RN-hb are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to β-tubulin III. RN-hb are negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. RN-hb are guaranteed to further culture under the conditions provided by ScienCell Research Laboratories; however, RN-hb are not recommended for expanding or long-term cultures since the cells do not proliferate in culture.
