In addition to antibiotics, buffers and growth factors, cell culture media also often require extra nutrients in the form of amino acids. Although most mammalian cells can synthesize non-essential amino acids (NEAA), supplementing cell culture media with NEAA promotes rapid cell growth and enhances cell metabolism. ScienCell offers a 100X concentrate of NEAA present in the Minimum Essential Medium (MEM). The solution is sterilized through a 0.2μm membrane filter.
