ScienCell recommends using at least 4 controls:

  • 1 internal control to normalize your data (e.g. β-actin, GAPDH, LDHA, NONO, and PPIH)
  • 1 DNA quality control to detect genomic DNA contamination in your cDNA samples (e.g. GDC, a primer set that targets a non-transcribed region of the genome
  • 1 positive control (ScienCell offers PPC, which is pre-dispensed synthetic DNA sequence not present in the human genome with a primer pair that can amplify it)
  • 1 negative control (a well with qPCR primers in which you add all reagents except the template DNA
Beta-actin B2M GAPDH GUSB HPRT1 HSP90AB1
