Urethral Cell System

Urethral Cell System

The urethral cell system stores and excretes urine from the body. In addition, in males the urethra is used for both urination and ejaculation. Endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, urothelial cells, and fibroblasts are vital components required for normal urethral and bladder development and function. Abnormal cell proliferation and regulation within the urethral cell system contributes to the development of disease such as bladder and urethral cancer. We offer 4 types of normal human primary cells in the urethral cell system including: bladder microvascular endothelial cells, bladder smooth muscle cells, bladder stromal fibroblasts, and urothelial cells.
