3D-Blood Brain Barrier Spheroid Medium
3D-BBBSpM consists of 200 ml of basal medium, 10 mL of FBS (Cat. #0010), 2 mL of 3D-blood brain barrier spheroid supplement (3D-BBBSpS, Cat. #3D-8752), and 2 mL penicillin/streptomycin solution (P/S, Cat. #0583). Note: 3D-BBBSpS, FBS, and P/S are not pre-mixed in the 3D-BBBSpM; they must be added separately to make the complete medium.
3D-Blood Brain Barrier Spheroid Medium (3D-BBBSpM) is a specialized medium designed for the generation and maintenance of spheroids consisting of astrocytes, pericytes and endothelial cells in vitro in conjunction with fetal bovine serum (FBS, Cat. #0010) and 3D-blood brain barrier spheroid supplement (3D-BBBSpS, Cat. #3D-8752). 3D-BBBSpM is a sterile, viscous medium which contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, and trace minerals. The medium is bicarbonate buffered and has a pH of 7.4 when equilibrated in an incubator with an atmosphere of 5% CO2/95% air.
